List of the Top Water Activities to do on Your Next Visit to Hawaii
Hawaii has the top water activities and has long been one of the most sought after vacation destination for many years with so much to do on the islands from simply laying around on the white sand beaches, touring around the island and seeing its beautiful landscape or visiting a traditional Hawaiian luau and embracing the culture and the beauty that makes these islands so great.
By far some of the best choices of activities to do our center around our beautiful aqua blue water. I have put together a list of the top water activities to do on your next vacation to Hawaii.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve
By far one of the top and most requested locations would be Hanauma Bay State Park with its beautiful protected curved Bay it has been a favorite for many years because of its lush coral that attracts over 300 varieties of tropical fish that you can view up close and personal. Also sea turtles are abundant in the beautiful aqua blue water. Prices for Hanauma Bay are very reasonable starting at $25, this is definitely one of the top choices for you to do on your next trip.
Swimming with Spinner Dolphins
There’s no better or more memorable way to remember your Hawaiian vacation then to jump into the open ocean and witness a pod of 50 to 100 dolphins swim around you, they seem to be more interested in you than you are of them. They are majestic and amazing creatures with several companies that will pick up in Waikiki and take you out to the west side of the island where dolphins cruise up and down the coastline. These tours include lunch and round trip transportation and their deckhands jump into the water with you and photograph you with the dolphins and make those memories available either online or by sim card.
Shark Cage Snorkeling Adventure
For those of you who are seeking a little more thrill and have the guts to jump into the cage surrounded by a dozen galapagos or reef tip sharks there is the shark cage dive guest get into a 10 foot by 10 foot cage with about six other people and spend 20 minutes watching the sharks swim by viewing these amazing creatures up close bumping into the cages. The cages with North Shore Shark Adventures are equipped with Plexiglas on both sides that allow for a almost see through experience. Shark viewing is done daily with the early morning tour times the more preferred due to the calmer waters and the sharks tend to feed and are more active in the early hours.
Catamaran Sail in Waikiki
There are several options for you to choose from: wake up early and go out on this beautiful 1.2 million catamaran with 60 minutes of snorkeling at Turtle Canyon in Waikiki, followed by 60 minutes of sailing around beautiful Diamond head with lunch included or an afternoon trade winds sail up and down the coast for a quick 60 minute sail and of course one of the island favorites is the Sunset Cocktail Cruise. This is a 90 minute sunset sail with an open bar and this beautiful cruise goes along the coastline of Waikiki out around Diamond Head and back as you watch the big orange sun slip into water. Included in this sail is 2 of your favorite adult beverages.
Swimming with Sea Turtles
These North Shore tours have been island favorites for years with two tours that take you up to the North Shore and I give you 60 minutes of snorkel time to get up close and personal with the amazing 300 pound “honu” green sea turtles. One tour, Hawaii Turtle Tour takes you from Waikiki on a beautiful full day tour around the island with 12 stops along the way and the other tour, the North Shore Beach Bus takes a more direct approach. From Waikiki you head straight up the middle of the island stopping at three different beaches, Bonsai Pipeline, Waimea Bay and gorgeous Sunset Beach where you spend the day on some of the most premier beaches. Both of these tours include 60 minutes of snorkeling with sea turtles at famous Turtle Beach.
Pearl Harbor and Circle Island Combo Tour
